In this article the writer talks about different types of songs that can be misinterpurted. Sometimes when we listen to music or perform people misinterpert the meanings. This leads us to question if what we are performing is really "for" god. God doesnt "need" us to worship him, it's more of an experience for us to grow and get closer to him. We must be humble when worshiping or else is it really "for" god?
I really enjoyed this article because it was really different than any other article i've read before. I dont know if i necessarily agree with everything this article said but it really made me think differently about worship. I never really thought too into the word "for" before but this article really made me see it. Being humble is something that is valued in worship. Overall I really like this article because it taught me to be more humble about worship.

ReplyDeleteTerra-Lynn, this is a fantastic response. I really like how you mentioned that God doesn't need us! But it is more important to know that God WANTS us. That should be our true motivation for worship.
ReplyDeleteGood job on the post, TL, it's our main focus to worship God through worship, rather than lift ourselves up. We need to focus on this, and I hope we all understand it. Most of the articles we read in this class focus on this, so it's definitely important.
